Nitronic 60 Stainless Steel is an austenitic alloy known for having the best galling resistance
among stainless steels. It exhibits high pitting resistance, excellent corrosion resistance, and
outstanding high-temperature performance up to around 982°C. Its crevice corrosion and chloride
pitting resistance surpass Stainless Steel 316, and it can be formed using common techniques without
preheating.
Nitronic 60 can be welded using standard methods such as gas metal arc, gas tungsten arc, and
submerged arc welding. Hardening is achieved through cold working.
Primary Elements: 16–18% Chromium, 8–9% Nickel, 7–9% Manganese, 3.5–4.5% Silicon,
balance Iron, with trace amounts of Carbon, Sulfur, Phosphorus, and Nitrogen.
Industries Served: Oil & Gas, Hydroelectric Power, Petrochemical, Food Processing,
Automotive, Marine, Pharmaceutical, Construction, and Chemical Sectors.
