Nitronic 50 Stainless Steel is an austenitic stainless steel combining exceptional strength and
corrosion resistance, outperforming Stainless Steel 316, 316L, 317, and 317L. It offers nearly
double the yield strength of 316/316L and 317/317L at room temperature and retains excellent
mechanical properties at both elevated and sub-zero temperatures. A unique advantage is that
Nitronic 50 remains non-magnetic even under severe cold working, unlike many other austenitic
stainless steels.
It performs exceptionally in marine and other harsh environments and can be fabricated using
the same equipment and procedures as Stainless Steel 300 series, with similar cooling techniques.
